Three day old baby found alive at uncompleted building three days after being thrown across fence

WorldStage Newsonline—A three day old baby with bruises on the head and body has been rescued at an uncompleted residential building at Obazuaye Street, Off Osakpamwan Street in Evbareke Quarters, Egor Local Government of Edo State, three days after being flung across the fence by a 25-year old mother.

The baby was said to have been taking to the Neonatal clinic of the Benin Central Hospital and is responding to treatment.

The 25-year old mother identified as Joy Tunde was arrested Tuesday after confessing to have dumped her baby at about 2am on Saturday, but residents of the area would not discover the baby until three days later.

Joy was said to have confessed that she threw the baby away because she once had an 'unwanted' baby for another man while the one responsible the new one refused to accept responsibility.

Men of the Textile Mill Road Police Division initially arrested the mother while the baby was taken to the hospital, but the spokesman for Edo Police Command, DSP Stephen Onwochei later confirmed that she had been released to enable her take care of the baby.
