Ambode to build multi-layer car parks in strategic locations to tackle traffic congestion

WorldStage Newsonline-- In its bid to ease traffic in Lagos state, the Lagos state government, under the leadership of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has announced plans to construct multilayer car parks in strategic locations across the state.

The State’s Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Engr Ade Akinsanya, who disclosed this on Wednesday at the commissioning of a new bus stop in Lagos, promised that the project will be delivered in 12 months.

Akinsanya said the state will be interested in partnering viable investors who willing to collaborate with government on the project. He noted that the move to construct the multilayer car parks was to pave way for a revised Parking Authority Law to end unlawful parking along the roads.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Prince AnofiuElegushi said the project was in line with the vision of the State Governor, MrAkinwunmiAmbode to ensure that all Lagosians have access to a proper and efficient public transport system compared to anywhere in the world.
